Cut Your 2017 Income Taxes

There’s still time left for you to cut you 2017 tax bills.

The conventional tax wisdom at the end of the year is to pull in deductions to offset current tax liability and push off income to postpone tax payment. This takes on added significance in 2017 with enactment of the new tax reform law, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA).

Because the bill, just signed into law by President Trump on Friday, December 22, cuts individual tax rates and eliminates or scales back most itemized deductions in 2018, many taxpayers have even more tax incentive to follow the traditional pull-and-push strategy.

See more at CPAPracticeadvisor.

According to Marketwatch “Most individuals will benefit from year-end planning moves that push income into next year and pull deductions into this year.”

For all those who would like to cash in on these saving by purchasing moving equipment at Handtrucks2go, make sure to place your orders before 12 AM on 12/31/2017, in order to make sure that the transaction will post in 2017.

Wishing all of our customers a Happy 2018!

Magliner Heavy-Duty Aluminum Appliance Truck

Here at Handtrucks2go, one of our preferred partner/suppliers is the well know company Magline.

Working with one of the top name companies in the industry is a pleasure and an honor. What we especially like about them is that they never sit back and relax, they are always innovating. A big shout out to Andrea Horner the Vice President of Marketing, who is always there for us.

Their latest addition is the Magliner Heavy-Duty Aluminum Appliance Truck. Below are the images and the press release related to this new product.

Magline, Inc. manufacturer of innovative material handling equipment, has launched an aluminum heavy-duty Appliance Truck. While lighter than its steel equivalents, the Magliner Appliance Truck moves heavy, oversized loads more safely and easily.

The Appliance Truck features a 4th wheel attachment to support loads up to 800 pounds in an incline position. This attachment is easily deployed and folded using an innovative handle release, allowing the user to keep both hands securely on the truck at all times. The truck offers an increased capacity in the two-wheel position of 600 Lbs.

The Appliance Truck also features a patent-pending break back bar which prevents the truck from rolling when breaking back or putting an item in place, which promotes ergonomic posture that reduces muscle strain.

The heavy-duty truck was designed with the same modularity as Magline’s popular two-wheeled hand trucks. With various handle, nose and wheel options to choose from, users can customize a unit suitable for their material handling needs. Optional accessories include stair crawlers for navigating stairs and curbs; wings that add an additional 6″ of load support; and a self-retracting ratchet strap to secure a load. While referred to as an appliance truck, the heavy-duty truck works in a multitude of applications where large, heavy and over-sized items need to be moved.

Andrea Horner, Magline’s Vice President of Marketing stated, “The launch of the Appliance Truck is a great addition to our product portfolio. The uniquely designed features like the break back bar, demonstrates our on-going commitment to help companies move product safely and ergonomically.”

Magline will be exhibiting the heavy-duty truck along with other innovative products at the 2017 Distributions Solutions Conference in October, booth #151.

Electric Adjustable Pallet Jacks? Are they Available?

Electric Adjustable Pallet Jack? Is that possible? Most forklifts and electric stackers usually come with adjustable forks, so if you need a fork size of 21″ and 27″ they would be easily adjustable. I for one have never found an adjustable powered electric walkies pallet jack yet.

So what is the solution if you 2 different size forks on your electric pallet jack? Well you can either buy 2 electric pallet jacks…very expensive…or you can use the all new PowerPallet Jack Convertor Kit together with the Wesco 272744 (21″-27″ wide x 48″ long) pallet jack or the Wesco 272747 (16″ – 20″ wide x 36″ long) both adjustable pallet jacks.

The 272747 is also a great solution if you need a shorter fork electric pallet jack, which are very expensive and hard to find.

Fitting the PowerPallet kit onto different jacks can be a bit tricky as we usually need to get quite a bit of technical information about your existing jack (this ensures we send you the proper fittings and plates), and there are some limitations as to which type of jack it can fit on.

Now, thanks to our good friend Joel over at PowerPallet who has pretested the Powerpallet kit with these 2 Wesco models, all you have to do is tell us that you are using it for ones of these Wesco models and we will take over from there!

Have a look at this video demonstrating the PowerPallet in use as well as assembly instructions.

ROI On Investing in an Electric Stair Climbing Hand Truck

Investing in an electric stair climber for moving safes, stoves, HVAC equipment, is not cheap. Typically it starts at about $2,000 and can run all the way up to $7000. Having said that, in our opinion not having one is even more expensive. For starters, you need to hire 3 to 4 people to move it, which usually entails waiting for all the workers to arrive at the site.

Next in most cases you will need to detach the door in order to lighten the load.

Then comes the fun, once all the men are on the job. In this case 3 men were waiting for the 4th, who arrived after 45 minutes.

Now this is something that I myself witnessed, it is already another 45 minutes, and after tying around heavy duty straps, using pipes and wooden beams to enable the safe to slide up the steps, they have managed to move it about 3 steps. This particular safe only weighs approximately 600lbs.

Imagine trying to move a 900lb safe or something even heavier! After checking in at about an hour in, the walls, and tiles on the bottom landing have been damaged. The tiling is ceramic so it’s going to cost I am guessing a couple hundred bucks.

So is a stair climbing dolly cheap? No. But not having one is even more expensive!

If you are smart, you will head over to Handtrucks2go today and get yourself a stair climbing hand truck.

Earth Day and Hand Truck Walking

For the last six years, Seattle’s Latona Pub celebrates earth week by transporting kegs to the pub without the benefit of motorized vehicles. They call it “kegwalking”. The primary vehicle involved is the simple hand truck, but bicycles are also used in some instances. Even rowboats and sailboats have been involved. Well who would have though that hand trucks would have such an integral part of Earth Day?

BTW, if you want to purchase the hand trucks shown in the image, they are the BP Liberator Hand Truck with sliding keg hook, a great choice for moving kegs!

Hand Truck Or Dolly?

Have you ever thought what the proper word for a 2 wheel hand truck is? Is it a dolly or a hand truck? or maybe a dollie? Honestly we are not sure either. But it seems to be a major point of contention, have a look at this Reddit thread, seems there are about 48 opinions so far and going strong… What do you think?

New at Handtrucks2go, Build Your Own Ramp

Dear Customers,

We have some big news here at Handtrucks2go.com. We are in the midst of expanding our current product line to include a full range of Loading Dock Equipment. We have teamed up with some of the best manufacturers out there and are currently working on expanding this line. We hope to have the full lineup available for sale within 1-2 months.

As with all the products that we sell, we do not simply upload images and specs, we take the time to get to know the products and learn which product is best suited for which application. This differentiates us from other online retailers, allowing you to get on the phone and actually speak to a solution specialist, who is actually familiar with the products on hand and can make a knowledgeable recommendation.

Here is a picture of Hal, our lead product developer at the Koke manufacturing facility in Queensbury, NY. Mike Nelson (shown in picture) of Koke was gracious enough to have our team come down, and spent the better part of a day, teaching our team of specialists all about this new product line. He was a great teacher, and went through in detail the different options and specifications needed for many different scenarios. A big shout out to Mike N. and the rest of the Koke team!

Of particular interest, is a special feature, that we will be bringing to our customers, the customizable options that are unique to Handtrucks2go. Many of you have already taken advantage of our customizable hand trucks, and platform carts, and are already familiar with the great benefit that this brings our customers. We plan on having this same feature available within the Loading Dock category.

Here you can see the custom hand truck ramp walks, that are already available for sale. Handtrucks2go is proud to be the first website to offer a “Build Your Own Hand Truck Ramp” option where you can actually design your own ramp online, get instant pricing, and purchase it online.

Once again we would like to thank all of our loyal customers for their continuous support.
