If you’re looking for a hand truck that folds down to next to nothing, this one is the one. It’s great for places where a hand truck wouldn’t normally be able to fit due to space. It has five inch wheels that make it easy to move and get around those tight corners, and best of all, this truck can be used or will fit virtually anywhere!

Organizing A Nearly Stress Free Move-Part 2

When the month is half over, call to confirm the moving date with whoever is providing the moving truck. Rent or purchase a hand truck to make the move easier and quicker. Make a list of things you need to do and organize the list by importance. Purchase the tape and bubble wrap and all moving supplies and begin packing a little bit every day so that you are not rushed for time at the end of the month.
Minimize your stress by starting in one room and making your way through the house one room at a time. Label every box you fill with name of the room it came from and the theme of the objects. For example, starting in the office with your books, label your box “Office, books”. It will be much easier to find what you need later on if you have an idea what is in each box.
When you load the truck, you will apply the same principle. Start one room at a time, keeping the boxes from each room together on the truck. When you unload, you can unload one room at a time too, so you won’t be darting to each corner of the house delivering boxes.

Moving at a Moment’s Notice-Part 2

Although they offer a convenient alternative to packing up and moving out by yourself, handling moving companies takes a lot of preparation as well. If you are unfortunate enough to be in such a hurry that you hire an incompetent moving company, your last minute move could end up costing you a lot of time and frustration. It would be awful to move into a new place with broken and missing items.
An alternative is to hire movers to pack and load up a rented vehicle with your items. Then you can drive to the new place yourself without having to worry about losing inventory. If you are going to load and unload your items without movers, you will need a decent hand truck to transport boxes. Hand trucks are the secret weapons of movers because they allow you to transport heavy and awkward items without straining your back in the process. Be sure to load the hand truck properly. You may be in a rush to complete your move but over stacking a hand truck can cause your load to tumble. You may get one on our site here, https://handtrucks2go.com/
If your items are not needed immediately after the move, some moving companies offer storage facilities. You can ask to store the load until you get settled in. Moving is stressful enough and it may be days before you can get to unpacking the boxes. Rather than tripping over them in your living room, take advantage of their storage service.
Last minute moves are difficult and stressful, but not impossible. Although planning in advance reduces moving-related stress significantly, most people wait to the last minute anyway. Moving companies are prepared for customers in this situation. Find some time to do your research and find a good company because you will likely need a lot of help.

Moving at a Moment’s Notice-Part 1

People generally prefer to have a few months to prepare in advance for a move, but sometimes situations arise and you have to plan a move as quickly as possible. If you are faced with the daunting task of planning a move in the last minute, you are going to need to find plenty of good help very quickly.
A last minute call reeks of desperation but contacting the right moving company is the best option for navigating a sudden and difficult move. A good moving company will understand the urgency of the situation without taking advantage of you. Contact a moving company as soon as you find out that you have to move. Some local moving companies offer packages for exactly this type of situation so have a look on their website and find a moving package that suits you.
There are some short cuts that you can take in order to be moved as quickly as possible, but remember that some due diligence on your part is still required. You should always supervise the packing crew to ensure that your items are being handled correctly. Label each box according to what room it came from, what it contains and add “Fragile” labels to delicate items

Lending Out Your Truck- Part 2

Finally, if it could not get any worse, you now have an “at-fault” rating on your insurance record even though you were not even the driver! When, or if, you go to purchase a new vehicle and arrange new insurance, there may be a considerable increase in your premium.

This sad but fictitious tale just serves as an important reminder. It is your hand truck that is insured and this insurance is subject to all of the terms, conditions, and exclusions, as spelled out in the actual policy document*. When you lend your vehicle you are effectively lending your insurance. Use caution when doing so. Make sure the driver is properly licensed and ensure you are comfortable with the consequences in the event of such an incident.

Attention business owners. This applies to employee drivers as well.

Lending Out You Car Or Truck-Part 1

During a family visit, your 21 year-old grandson asks to borrow your truck. You know him to be safe and conscientious and he is just to go to the local mall. You have all of the necessary insurance and you remember from conversations over the years with your insurer that occasional guests are insured while driving your car. You would have preferred he not asked but the pressure is on and you hand him the keys telling him to drive safe.

A short while later the police call. He has been in a serious crash and thankfully is uninjured. They advise you that his out-of-province license had actually been suspended. Apparently he had overlooked paying a few tickets back home. They further advise your 2-year-old car is probably a write-off. There were also injuries in the car he hit and there is a chance they will be seeking damages from you.

From an insurance perspective, this is a nightmare. First, as the truck was being operated by someone “not authorized by law”, you have just given up coverage on the vehicle i.e. no collision insurance. The cost to repair, or the entire value of the vehicle if written off, will be entirely at your expense. Further, had your grandson sustained injuries, he would not be covered under all of the accident benefit provisions.

Second. If there is a lawsuit from the injured third-parties, it is directed at the owner of the truck – you! Further, if the eventual judgment e.g. $2,000,000 exceeds the limit of your liability insurance e.g. $1,000,000, you will be responsible to pay the 2nd $1,000,000. House? Savings? Potentially gone! Higher liability limits, and the corresponding “underinsured motorist protection” would have helped and are extremely important regardless of who is driving your car! Consider $2,000,000 as a minimum these days.

The Invention of the Hand Truck

According to the Jewish Religion Noah-the Noah who built the ark and survived the great flood before the common era, was the inventor of the whole idea of tools. After being in the hand truck business for a while I started wondering who actually invented the hand truck? Now to be fair the hand truck uses so many ideas A) the wheels B) leverage and a host of others. Could you imagine the first person who invented it and the excitement that must have abounded at this sheer simplicity but genius!! Was it patented? I highly doubt there were any patent laws in existence when hand trucks were invented!

Well anyway we all have our homework cut out for us, to research the inventor of the hand truck! And don’t forget if you submit a comment to our blog you can be the grand winner of a brand new Magna Cart Mcx, so give it a shot, it will be fun and you can be a winner too!

Convertible Truck-What Does That Imply?

When you refer to a convertible truck, what do you have in mind a convertible hybrid truck or a convertible hand truck? If you put that keyword phrase into google the first 2 results are about hybrid trucks followed by hand trucks. What does that tell us about google’s algorithm? I would think most people mean to refer to a hand truck. Yahoo is even worse with all the results besides 2 referring to the hybrid trucks. Why don’t you weigh on and let us know what you think! Maybe computers are just that computers and there is not any way to avoid this kind of thing. But I won’t be surprised if in the future you will see a result with something like did you mean a as in is hybrid truck or b as in convertible hand truck, that will be interesting to see if they ever go with that path!

Electric Hand Truck Safety

Electric powered hand trucks are a great innovation that can prevent back injuries, besides for increasing worker productivity. These powered hand trucks are great for moving cargo on a flat area but are even more important when going up and down ramps that are common on all tractor trailers.
When going up it is obvious why it will help you-saving you the manpower and elbow grease to lug the cargo up, but believe it or not it is even more important when going down.
Most injuries in these scenarios actually more commonly occur on the descent, in a situation that you have a heavy load-say a thousand pounds. Picture yourself going down a ramp with that kind of weight, then trying to stop it midway to answer your cell phone. Forget about it! Even if you tried it you will be all over the place and can very well sustain a back injury so invest wisely and you will more than recoup the investment you put out, which can run from $3,000 to $5,000.
