This 16,000 lbs capacity Yard Ramp from Bluff Manufacturing includes a complete undercarriage assembly consisting of two large and heavy duty 18” solid rubber tires making it highly portable and maneuverable for easier positioning and more efficient material handling.

The Yard Ramp is available in different sizes which vary in either length or width of the ramp intended to cater different material handling needs and solving all your loading and docking problems. Note that the 30’ length models are standard most of the time for ground to the dock applications and 36’ models are for ground to truck applications. It is made out of reinforced steel built to ensure heavy duty and harsh applications.

This also has serrated steel grating offering better traction which makes this Yard Ramp great for material handling requiring non-slip platforms. Because of this, moisture, dirt, dust and debris do not stick and build up on the ramp since it they fall right through it.  

Bluff’s Steel Ramps allow traffic from the ground up into a truck bed or from the dock level down to the ground providing easy access for forklits into docks, trailers and more. It comes with a built-in hydraulic pump with a release valve made to conveniently and easily raise and lower the ramp to a suitable height for different scenarios.

The Steel Yard Ramps can be purchased together with other optional accessories intended to improve your working experience such as the ramp clamps which provide a more secure pick-up point for your forklift to move it. You can also add handrails for added safety on top of its standard safety chain used to securely hold the ramp to the trailer or dock.

YARD RAMP SELECTION GUIDELINES

CAPACITY

The capacity you select must be greater than the combined weight of your heaviest forklift and the heaviest weight of anticipated loads it will carry.

 

WIDTH

Yard Ramps are available in 70” and 84” standard nominal width, with the 84” model accommodating more applications. The usable width is 6” less than the nominal width, and the usable width should be at least 15” wider than the widest equipment to be used on the ramp. Custom widths are available. For railcar use, select the ramp width wide enough to prevent the forklift from hitting the ramp curbs as it turns into the railcar. Consult your forklift manual for radius turning capabilities. Measure railcar door openings to make sure the Yard Ramp will fit.

 

TYPE AND LENGTH

Level off – 36’ Length: A six-foot level off at the end of the ramp adds maneuverability for forklifts. This allows forklifts easier turning access into railcars and allows them to handle pallets next to the door openings. The 36’ ramp is most popular where endloading is required. Level off type is noted by the letter “L” following the model number.
Straight – 30’ Length: This type is used primarily for ground to dock applications, where no level off is required.
