The PowerMate M-Series is a heavy duty stair climber with a capacity to move loads up to 1,500 lbs. The M-Series are made from heavy duty steel construction and is ideal for moving heavy loads like safes, boilers, geothermal heat pumps, elevator equipment or any heavy, awkward load.

The PowerMate M-Series Stair Climber comes complete with:
 two strapbars, one hook bar leveler, one 12V sealed long life battery, a battery cover, one two wheel retractable dolly, and one battery charger with auto shut-off and multi voltage feature.

Please read all the details in order to give yourself a good idea of the product and to get yourself comfortable with it. Before getting into all the details though, we'll just give a quick overview. The M series Powermate Stair Climber is unique in its height climbing capabilities, while most stairclimbers have a maximum climbing ability of 8-9 inches, these Powermates can climb either 40 or 48 inches depending on the model.

There are 2 models in the M series hand truck:

Powermate M-1: 60" Frame height - 40" Lift

Powermate M-2C: 68" Frame Height - 48" Lift Height

The M-1 has a 40" lift height will climb on/off any of the standard pickup trucks (F-series, GMC, Dodge Ram), vans (Econoline, Savannah, Cargo, Sprinter) or even box trucks. Occasionally a boxtruck will be higher or the step bumper is deeper so the M-2C would then be the choice.

 

The M-1 has a height of 60" while the  M-2C has a height of 68" making it more ideal for taller items such as a subzero.

Every consideration was given to make your PowerMate® the most ergonomically friendly lifting device on the market. For example, all our operator controls are strategically positioned on the top of the machine between the hand grips. The drive screw brake is always engaged until the operator activates the controls. This safety feature prevents unessessary load movement.

The wheels on a PowerMate® lift up and out of the way reducing the overall footprint of the machine – ideal in a tight spot like narrow stairwells and landings. This feature is also why you are able to break back the load with such relative ease; with the wheels out of the way, the effort to pull the load back onto the wheels is dramatically reduced. Once the machine and load are back onto the wheels, you are now in a well balanced position - with no effort required to keep the load in balance! You can even let go of the machine at this point! A handy feature on stairwells should you have to open a door or even answer your phone. This is impossible with a regular hand truck and is a major advantage in owning a PowerMate®.

All PowerMates M-Seies are manufactured with solid state controls which reduce the draw on the battery adding to your daily operational battery life. Another advantage of solid state controls (unique in the industry) is the "soft start" feature. This further increases safety by reducing sudden movements during start up and results in the smoother operation of the machine. The new controls also make servicing and maintenance as easy as 1-2-3!

With the addition of the horizontal support brackets, the M-Series model can be lowered into a horizontal position. The load can then be easily moved higher up the frame to allow for the addition of a load elevator. This is very handy for positioning heavy, compact loads like electric motors up into a well balanced position prior to the move.

Wheel Brakes

 

Recommended for all Units. Wheel brakes provide added stability while climbing stairs and further reduce the effort to move loads. Wheel brakes are a popular option with the M-Series machines. Extended Toeplate (Depth)

 

The Extended Toe Plate (depth) is made out of heavy duty steel used with larger loads like commercial hot water tanks to provide a larger base for tank legs. Measurements are as follows: Depth 12" x Width 22" x Height 3".

Extended Toeplate (Width)

 

The Extended Toe Plate (width) is made out of heavy duty steel used with wide loads like vending machines to provide a base for the widely spaced legs. Measurements are as follows: Depth 6.5" x Width 32" x Height 3".

Big Wheel Attachment

 

The Big Wheel Attachment is the ideal solution for contractors that regularly need to move heavy loads over rough or uneven ground, even snow. The large air filled tires attach and remove easily to the fully loaded machine. Measurements are as follows: Depth 16" x Width 37" x Height 23", Weight 49 lbs.

Cylinder Attachment

The Cylinder Attachment is made out of steel & felt designed to hold barrels and compressed gas cylinders of various sizes securely in place. Measurements are as follows: Depth 6" x Width 18" x Height 4".

Water Tank Attachment

The Hot Water Tank attachment is a specialty strap bar designed to hold secure the rounded curve of commercial hot water tanks and other cylinder loads up to 24 inches in diameter to the machine; minimizing the risk of product damage. This accessory can replace or be used in addition to existing strap bars. Measurements are as follows: Radius 14" x Length 24.5"

Load Elevator

The Load Elevator is used with compact loads like heavy electric motors to raise the centre of gravity. This keeps the load in a better balanced position for stair climbing. Measurements are as follows: Depth 14" x Width 16" x Height 18".

In-Vehicle Battery Charger

The In-Vehicle Battery Charger is a smart charging system that keeps your PowerMate charged while it remains in the vehicle. It is hard-wired into the vehicle electrical system. Note that it will not allow the vehicle battery to go below 75% capacity to ensure vehicle starting. Input 12V DC, Output 12V DC 4.0 Amp. Measurements are as follows: Depth 1" x Width 3.75" x Height 3.375".

TwinLift

The TwinLift attachments allow for easy maneuvering of large loads such as large vending machines or Sub Zero refrigerators in tight spaces. The TwinLift will allow the load and machine to be turned 360º degrees effortlessly.

Skid Plate

The PowerMate Skid Plate is made out of heavy duty steel fits in front of the strap bars and is used to elevate loads for easier handling. Measurements are as follows: Width 19.5" x Height 46".

Horizontal Support Brackets

The Horizontal Support Brackets are made out of heavy duty steel used in combination with the Load Elevator and allow the operator to position the unit and load in the fully horizontal position. This allows the operator to re-position heavy loads higher up the frame for better balancing. This option comes in 2 brackets per package each measuring 11" tall.

Step Extension with Mat Assembly

Perfect for small landings and tight turns, the Step Extension with Mat Assembly can be placed at the top or bottom of a stair case to create more room and a better turning surface for maneuvering your PowerMate with its load. This accessory gives you the ability to complete even more installs and removals than ever before! The step extension by itself measures Depth 20" x Width 28" x Height 6.75", Weight 27 lbs while the Mat Assembly measures Depth 44" x Width 28" x Height 0.25", Weight 10 lbs.

Hook Box

The PowerMate Hook Box can be installed flush with the bed of your truck, van or loading dock. Your fully loaded PowerMate is designed to work with your hook box to assist with loading heavy loads in and out of your vehicle. The hook box reduces the amount of effort required to hold a load secure while you “power” lift your load. Measurements are as follows: Depth 4.5" x Width 6.25" x Height 1.5".

Side Handle Kit

The Side Handles attach to the side of the machine for increased ease of maneuvering the machine and load.

Spare Battery

This 12V/30AH sealed gel maintenance-free battery is leak proof and will last on average from 4-7 years. Together with our high-efficiency drive screw design, our M-Series machines will move a 500 lb load up AND down 20 flights of stairs on a single charge.

Extra Strap Bar

The strap bars provide additional security and safety especially when dealing with large and bulky loads. Available in 2 sizes; 10'L x 26”W and 14'L x 26”W
